Growing Trend: New England Students Opt for Southern Colleges

As my seniors celebrate many of their early decision replies coming in now, I’m reminded of a Wall Street Journal article published on trends toward interest in southern colleges and universities. Increasing numbers of New England students are now considering southern schools for reasons ranging from preferred climate, tuition costs, school spirit and a pace of life that feels more manageable.

 

Parents seem happy to absorb travel costs rather than investing in down coats and winter boots, as the region calls to more and more of their children-and admit rates advise us to widen the net.
